Santa Teresa County Park – San Jose, CA

What?

Santa Teresa County park is a 1,627 acre park that shows off spectacular views of Almaden and Santa Clara Valleys. The park provides over 18 miles of unpaved trails for equestrian, hiking and bicycle use. There are many trails to explore with varying difficulty level and surprisingly quite a few wildlife sightings such as jack rabbits, wild bore, snakes, and deer. The park is open year round from 8 a.m. until sunset and there is a vehicle entry fee.

Where?

Located in the hills of south San Jose, California, U.S.A.

How?

The main entrance is at the Pueblo Day Use east area (260 Bernal Rd, San Jose), there is a large parking lot that requires a fee. But, if you keep on driving up the hill (before IBM building), shortly after passing the entrance there are 6 parking spaces to your left that is free of charge. There are other entrances that includes, Joice Bernal Ranch in the northwest, Avenida Espana on the northeast, and the Stile Ranch entrance from Almaden Valley; however, we have never parked at those locations.
