Ho Chi Minh City (formerly named and still referred to as Saigon) is the biggest city in Vietnam. HCMC is famous for the pivotal role it played in the Vietnam War. This city is rich in history and the food is amazeballs. I’ve never had better Bánh xèo (Vietnamese crepes) anywhere else in my life. I still remember crispiness of the crepes and returning to the restaurant twice in the same week that we were there. Unfortunately, we cannot remember the name of the restaurant, but it’s on the same street and walking distance from the Thien Thao Hotel that we stayed in (make a right when exiting the hotel and walk about 2-3 blocks – it’s across the street on the opposite side of the road). They fry their Bánh xèo in the front of the restaurant.
Ho Chi Minh City is located in southern Vietnam.
We booked our stay at the Thien Thao Hotel and arranged a pick-up from the hotel. This sweet young man picked us up from the airport and helped us around by purchasing a sim card for our phone. We took booked several tours from the hotel, including a City tour and visiting the Mekong Delta
