How?

We took a boat to Cat Ba and signed up for a Halong Bay Boat tour from there. You definitely get what you pay for and we went with a cheap private tour for the 5 of us. They promised us nice boats to stay overnight in, but we complained and they ended up taking us to a small island to stay overnight in huts. That turned out to be the ideal situation for us because it was a beautiful place. We were surrounded by mountains with breathtaking views and at night surrounded by bioluminescent plankton. We had an amazing time there with our friends.
